We receive funding from the Government to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and Sport offered here at Fishponds.

We have historically had focuses on raising our pupils' fitness and improving their ability to swim.

What are we focusing on this academic year?

We will be focusing on fitness again and getting our children active following 18 months of disruption to a lot of physical activities.

We are looking to promote engagement in physical activity at breaktimes and lunchtimes through providing equipment and structured games.

We are also looking to expose our children to a variety of new sports through our PE provision through specialist teaching or workshop days to provide them with opportunities they haven't had available to them due to Covid. 

Our children attend swimming lessons throughout Year 5. We want to ensure as many children as possible are able to swim 25metres by the time they leave year 6 through weekly lessons and booster lessons as needed.
