Loving to Learn, Learning to Love

Read our latest good Ofsted report

Just a short note of thanks for hosting our visit this week, especially on a Monday! It was life-affirming to see what you are all doing, and to see your children thriving and learning in harmony with each other – quite spectacular! Richard Leaman OBE

Welcome to Fishponds CE Academy

Welcome to Fishponds CE Academy where our aim is for all children to flourish both academically and emotionally. We provide holistic care for our pupils with an emphasis on emotional literacy and nurture.

Our school reflects the diversity and vibrancy of our local community. All our children are encouraged and empowered to be their very best and our recent inspection reports demonstrate that. Whilst at Fishponds CE Academy, your child will access a broad curriculum which will prepare them for their place on the world stage of their future. With a dedicated focus on building children's confidence we provide them with the skills and vocabulary to become articulate advocates for change on matters such as equality and the environment.

We have a specialist sports provision and dedicated Spanish and Music programmes. We are proud to be the first Bristol school selected for the highly regarded Global Schools Programme.

Most of all, we are a school with love at its heart!

What do other professionals say about our school?

Ofsted (March 2022)

Pupils enjoy their time at school. They are confident and successful in their learning.

Leaders are determined that each child in the school will succeed. They have brought about many improvements in the curriculum and in managing pupils’ emotional and social needs. As a result, the quality of education that pupils receive is good.

Pupils have positive attitudes to respecting people’s differences.

There is a strong culture of safeguarding in the school.

School Games Lead (November 2024)

"I was impressed by your basketball team's behaviour and effort throughout the activity. They were respectful, focused, and demonstrated a positive attitude at all times.

While performance wasn’t my primary focus, I must say they did very well. What stood out most, however, were the values they displayed—teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship. They represented Fishponds C of E brilliantly and were a credit to both you and themselves."

SIAMs Inspection Report (October 2019)

The efforts made by everyone to ensure that each child has the best possible welcome and every possible barrier to learning removed are remarkable. The work done by the inclusion team demonstrates love without limits.

Relationships at Fishponds are exceptionally loving, caring and supportive.

The impact made by this outstanding school on its local community is remarkable.

What makes our school special?

Our school is a very happy place where every child is welcomed, loved and nurtured. We are a rich and diverse community with families from many different cultures, faiths and backgrounds. There are over 40 languages spoken in our school!

Our staff team are very friendly and approachable. They go the extra mile to make a positive difference to all of our children and families. Children experience a wide range of activities through school life such as opportunities for big-stage performances, horse riding, music lessons, special sports provision (including access to karate lessons by a specialist proivider, Bikability and swimming) and Spanish lessons taught by a native speaker.

We have an aspirational curriculum which is uniquely designed to meet the needs and interests of our pupils whilst incorporating links to our local community and the world of work. Our history units focus on those who have made a difference to the local community and wider, featuring key individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.

Pupil voice groups are at the heart of everything we do! The School Council, Earth Protection Force, Worship Committee, The Racial Equity Group and Pupil Librarians are all active in ensuring our school offer is the best it can be.

Come and visit us - you'll be assured of a warm and loving welcome!
